How We Make Money

We believe transparency builds trust. Here’s a clear, straightforward explanation of how OneLend works, how we earn revenue, and why our service is free for the businesses we help.

How OneLend works

OneLend is a loan-matching marketplace, not a lender. We do not lend money or make credit decisions. Instead, we connect Canadian businesses with lenders in our network whose criteria may fit your funding needs. When you complete an application, we compare your business profile against each lender’s requirements and surface the options you may qualify for. Loan approval, terms, and rates are determined by the individual lenders.

Free for borrowers

Using OneLend is free for borrowers. You never pay us a fee to be matched with lenders or to use our platform. Instead, lenders pay OneLend a referral or marketing fee when we match them with a business that may be a fit. This is how we keep our service free for the businesses we help.

Editorial independence

Compensation does not determine who we match you with. Our matching is based on your business profile and each lender’s criteria — not on which lender pays us the most. Any paid placement or advertisement is clearly labelled so you can tell the difference between a match and an ad.

Your privacy

We take the protection of your information seriously. OneLend uses bank-level encryption to safeguard the details you share, and we handle your personal information in accordance with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA). We never sell your personal information. To learn more about what we collect and how we use it, read our Privacy Policy.
